During the mechanical seals  woking  process, the friction of the sealing surface and the stirring of the sealing ring will continuously produce heat. The heat must be removed to avoid thermal deformation of the sealing ring. In the process, sometimes the high temperature medium, the shaft sealing box needs to be reduced. The temperature can ensure that the seal works properly. Heat removal and temperature reduction can be achieved by using temperature control methods and measures.

To use temperature control is not only good for mechanical seals, but it is also beneficial for practical use, ie it can be avoided or reduced:

1. Deformation of the friction pair seal ring and carbon graphite ring impregnating agent are burned or melted.

2. Change in the viscosity of the liquid film between the seal faces, vaporization of the liquid film and destruction of the liquid film.

3. Failure of secondary seal elements such as rubber, plastic seals softening, aging, and decomposition.

4. Accelerate media corrosion and accelerated wear on parts.

5. Some media are prone to crystallization, solidification, polymerization or decomposition.

So according to experience, it can be seen that the use of high temperature, good thermal conductivity, and good frictional materials alone cannot often achieve the desired results. To be fully realized, it must be accompanied by appropriate temperature control measures in order to keep mechanical seals working well.
